Nasty

Yuk

This stuff is supposed to be the backbone of the detox week of my diet. After downing a glass on Saturday I had a feeling it wouldn’t last. After Sunday’s glass I knew that was the end of that. So now I have carrot sticks instead. I’m sure I’m missing some vital vitamins somewhere but at least I can go through the day without gagging.

Back at work I’m dodging biscuits and trips to the cafe. I’m not known for my self-control, but I’m finding it surprisingly easy to resist. A quick glance down at the belly every now and then always helps.

    Is that tomato juice? You can’t possibly enjoy it raw. You have to add a load of Worcester sauce, Tabasco, salt and pepper. Ned used to always add clam juice as well, but I never fancied that.

    It’s actually vegetable juice. Tomatoes, carrots, spinach, celery, peppers, onion, etc. I’m supposed to blend it with juice of half an orange and a handful of watercress. Anything else will damage the purity of it and add bad things to my diet. Apparently.

    I never liked Bloody Mary’s either. Vegetables = Solid.

    How many clams do you have to squeeze to get enough clam juice for a drink?

    I’m not sure if you squeeze them, or milk them.
